For the past week I’ve been dropping lots of not-soo-subtle-hints at work about wanting a pony for my birthday. This morning when I got to work, I found this on my desk - I have the best colleagues!

(one of my senior colleagues later told me that since they couldn’t find a pony, they just bought a horse and cut it’s legs off!)

A couple of months back someone at Annie’s record label “accidentaly” (or that’s the official version at least) leaked her new single, I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me, to her official MySpace-page. Word got around fast and soon 3864876478621 different music blogs had posted MySpace-rips of the song.

When it first came out I had it playing on constant repeat for daaaayyys, but after a couple of weeks of doing that I kinda forgot about it. Today when I was zapping around on TV I saw the video and now I have that ring-a-ding-a-ding-ding-ding-ding part of the song stuck in my head again.

Bis - Eurodisco

A lot of good bands have come out from Glasgow like Sons and daughters, Primal Scream, Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian - just to mention a few. The best Glaswegian band ever though, has to be Bis.

The band was formed in 1994 by Steven Clark, John Clark and Amanda MacKinnon. In 1995 they appeared on Top of the Pop with the song Kandy Pop, becoming the first ever unsigned band to appear on the show.

I think I like almost everything they’ve ever made, but if I had to choose one favourite track, it’d have to be Eurodisco. It’s from the band’s second album, Social Dancing, which was released on Wiiija records in 1999.

This was the view from my office window around lunchtime today. No, Oslo hasn’t been invaded by Nazis, not real ones at least. The reason the area around Oslo’s main street was full of Nazi soldiers today was that they’re shooting a movie about Norwegian WW2 resistance fighter Max Manus.

The building on the picture is the Parliament building. Before the shooting, they removed traffic lights and changed the shop fronts of some of the shops to make the street look like it did in June 1940.
